WOW! It has been a long haul with no end in sight! Knowing that everyone has their own struggles through this and I am far from alone! I have watched many others “seem” to thrive with the lack of schedule, extra time and a shift in priorities. I am not one of them. I had GREAT intentions! LOL! But they never quite panned out. I totally lost focus. I am not sad or depressed just all over the place! No clear plan, no clear focus. I realized that even though my kids are older (13 and 17… both celebrating pandemic birthdays) when they didn’t go back to school after spring break I could never get my groove back! For example, no summer camps, canceled vacations, birthday celebrations changed, NO SCHEDULE!
So…. here we are, feeling like this sweet little one! We celebrated her first birthday at the studio during the pandemic but even with a mask it didn’t stop me from loving every minute of it!
What happened next?
Yesterday my youngest went to sailing camp! YES!!! It was like the first normal day we have had since quarantine. My daughter was out for the day. She was doing productive and fun things and I felt like…. NORMAL! I got things done, was motivated, working and staying off social media. It made me realize how much the kids being home and off schedule has effected me. I thought because my kids were older it would be easier. ALL THE COMPASSION for moms at home with younger kids!!!! But I was wrong…. It was hard for me also. Harder than I realized.
Once I had some quiet time I was focused. Just like this sweet baby. She had the BEST time celebrating her pandemic birthday. She wore a sweet little outfit from Lily and Max and the elegant cake was beautifully created bySugar & Bliss . It was so yummy, that mom and dad took home the the remaining parts to take home and eat! This family is (was) a member of the New Beginnings Plan and we are in the final stages of designing her first year album! I can not wait to share it with you!!!
Love this session?
No matter if we celebrate in the studio with a pandemic birthday or a newborn session, we would LOVE to chat with you about it and how special it is!
This little guy decided to make his way into the world a little earlier than expected and decided to have a nice hospital stay! BUT he was soooooo worth the wait! His little rolls are so yummy and those lips….. I loved each moment at this early newborn photography session.
I love all his hair! You never know how long newborn hair will stay but I was so happy he had so much for his photo session! Especially since we scheduled his session much later than I normally schedule newborn sessions.
Newborn Session when?
Newborn sessions are usually scheduled between 7 and 14 days after birth but this precious baby was several weeks old before he was able to come in to the studio for his session!
Big Sister at his Photo Session
His big sister had a special dolly that she brought with her to every session (and still does) so this special giraffe will be what he brings to every session. I can not wait to see how he grows with this special toy by his side!
He is so loved by his family! His big sister will be the best sister! I can already tell how much she loves him! She was such a big helper at his session and always ready to take pictures with her special new baby!
This newborn was such a great sleeper but I loved that he gave me just enough awake time to capture his eyes! He was so comfy all wrapped up and warm and was staring right at me!
I am always excited when a baby gives me lots of good sleep during their session but also a little bit of awake time so that I can capture them awake. Awake newborn images are some of my favorites!
If you would like to schedule a complimentary consultation for a newborn session I would love to hear from you! Contact the studio at (727) 491-6476 or fill out the contact form. We take a limited number of newborn sessions per month, it is really never to early to get your scheduled!
We are so excited to release the registration and give you all the
information about them! So without further a due… here it is…

This family got together in the studio to celebrate life and take memorable photographs of the entire family.
The little ones dressed up with their favorite fantastic characters. A cute aquamarine mermaid dress that fits her perfectly, while her brother is loving his “Cars” costume.
They are all celebrating their youngest daughter’s first birthday. They dressed her up all in red, to represent love and passion and included one balloon to represent her age.
Tracy loves Family Photography because it allows to bring together the family in the studio. This time they also adventured at the outdoors in the Tampa Bay area, for a very fresh vibe.
Also, featuring red attires, they set a Picnic scenario to capture the family in this very important milestone. These closeups with mom and dad are too cute. You can see her smiling every time they hold her.
This Family Photography session was filled with a lot of emotions, the youngest little one went through a whole lot of emotions during the session, but to show how much she loves mom and dad, she smiles the most in the photos where they are together.
It was definitely a fun session. Themed Family Photography sessions are always filled with personality, laughter and creativity. Halloween is a great time for this type of sessions, are a great idea to capture this time of the year and a great memory to look back to.

Celebrating four years of life with a Children Photography Session in the Studio with Tracy Gabbard.
Tracy is a skilled photographer in the Tampa Bay area and located in the Clearwater area.
She has a natural lighting photography studio that brings the best environment for the perfect photos.
This time we have two little brothers in the studio. Children Photography has a very special place in Tracy’ heart because it gives her the opportunity to watch them grow through the years.
Most families who come to the studio while they are pregnant or in the early stages of their new family member’s life, come back to capture every important milestone with her. Especially birthdays and important dates.
This time we have two little ones that are not so little anymore. They are best friends and have a great relationship. Older and younger brother got together to celebrate another birthday together.
They have, like all brothers, different personalities, one prefers red, the other one loves blue. Contrast colors look great together.
Tracy loves to use light colors such as gray and white, and they go very good with the choice of clothes for this set.
She enjoys capturing the kid’s expressions and personalities through every photo. And you can tell how comfortable they look during the session.
One of the abilities that make her stand out in front of other professionals who work with Children Photography, is precise, that she can bring the little ones into a fun and happy mood that make photo sessions very smooth and relaxed.
Happy Monday everyone! And today we have this little one but not so little!
Not everything is Babies and Moms and Dads! Tracy is a very skilled photographer in the Tampa Bay area and she loves photographing families through their whole lives if preferred. It is a dream to work with families for over ten or twenty years and look at the timeline and say, “OH MY GOD!” And entire lifetime.
This very handsome boy turned four years old and Tracy and his family decided to get outside and take advantage of the perfect weather and natural lighting to celebrate that amazing birthday!
He posed for the pictures in a very natural way, he is totally comfortable in front of the cameras and he looks so happy! His smile captivates us in absolutely every single picture.
His green, beautiful eyes goes with everything, the natural scenery and even his clothes. The selection for this was simply stunning.
Fresh, clean and modern. And just to make it even better, his brother joined for this amazing photo session.
They are very close together, and you can even tell from the distance, they look so alike, with only a few inches apart and little age gap, they almost look like twins.
This was such a fun and sunny session out there at the natural scenery of Tampa Bay.
Every year is important, specially when children are so young, because they go through so many changes and they grow so fast, it’s important to capture those beautiful memories of moments that won’t come back.
This is why Tracy is so passionate about photography and to show families how valuable these photos will be in the future, so they can look back and say “Wow, you were so little back then!” and bring a smile to family and friends.
The weekend is about to start and we want to bring you this heartwarming session that is all about Collin and his brother! As part of their First Year Plan, they had so much fun at the studio with Tracy. you can totally see how full of energy they both are, they love each other and you can totally feel it through the photographs. The first year has been an amazing journey for the family and bonding with his brother has been one of the most important times of the year!
Collin is now starting to sit up and walk and his brother is right there next to him, the entire family is so proud, it definitely brought some special moments in the studio. So full of love! And don’t forget the cake at the end, Collin ate his very first birthday cake as soon as he got the chance to play with it.
Tracy focuses on providing custom art work for your walls and products that can be touched and held. She wants her families to take home ready to display images that will be enjoyed for years to come. While digital files are available the focuses of each session is to create beautiful art, albums and treasured folio boxes that will display your family images in the way they are meant to be shared.
OMG! These 2 are hilarious! As a Tampa family Photographer I have been SO lucky to photograph them since the they were both newborns. I don’t think we have missed even one year. They are both crazy, funny and SO much fun! After 8 years of following them through their little lives I have literally watched them grow up before my eyes. It is fun to find new places to have sessions… we have done local parks, clearwater beaches, Tampa universities, the TGP studio and now downtown Tampa. We just did a little story on their session from last year here.… My heart is full when I get to spend time with them and mom gets a break since I take them off on my own. Their personalities crack me up and I LOVE that they know me and are comfortable with me. There is always lots of laughing and giggles throughout the time we spend together and you can see how fun they are in this picture as he reacts to a silly secret his sister told him!
During the session, unprompted by me, big sister asked me to take a pretty picture of the flowers she picked…. how perfectly girl like and sweet…
Now for the funny part….. a little later in the session, Mr “C” asked me to take a picture of….
yes…. the ANT crawling on his arm! LOL! TOTAL girl and boy representation there! I am fairly sure that the picture of this ant will NOT be a large portrait above the fireplace BUT I bet it makes it into and album page because it is SOOO him and shows exactly what both of these awesome kids are like at this age! And after all, isn’t that what portrait sessions are all about?
Tracy is very passionate about performing photography sessions in her studio, but she is also always excited to get outdoors with families and shoot at a different scenery, with colorful backgrounds and taking advantage of the warmth that the summer brings.
This time we want to share this session that took place at a nice outdoor spot in the Tampa Bay area and it’s meant to express the love bond that this family grows together every singe day.
The vibrant colors from the grass bring a very warm and fresh vibe to the photos, which is exactly what the family have been looking for. These memories will decor a wall in their homes or a page in their album. Tracy offers a variety of options for prints.
They are a very loving family, they enjoy playing together and thought it was the best idea to show a playful pose. You can feel the adventure and active side of the portrait in the father and son pose and you can see the more loving and caring side in the pose the mother and daughter hold for this particular photograph.
He loves playing with cars and it’s becoming a big collector of them. Tracy thought of it and decided to take a photograph of his favorite cars and as the years go by, he can go back and remember his first collection. It’s an unforgettable memory.
Have you seen photos that make you feel exactly what the person in it is feeling? This is one of them. Tracy captured the emotion and excitement that the daughter felt by visiting the park with the family. It was a fresh day with the perfect light and tone for this session.
Your family is the most important thing in life. The moments you live today won’t come back tomorrow, but you have the opportunity to invest in a photography session that will capture the best moments. Moments when you love, you laugh and love.
Don’t miss the opportunity to make incredibly sharp memories with your family. Contact Tracy for more information about her services in the Tampa Bay area.

Let’s talk about close ups! At each photography session I always try to do a few close ups . I love the way they capture the details of the eyes and for the little guys their little teeth (or lack of :)) It’s fun to capture silly faces and serious ones as well. They don’t always have to be smiling to make an impact and evoke emotion. Sometimes non smiling photographs end up being my favorites. I love them for babies, kids and older children. I reached back several years to grab some of my favorites! You may have seen some of these before but a few of these kiddos are 5 and 6 years old already! Time flies! Do you see your little one (or older one :)) in these photos picked by me from the collection of Tracy Gabbard Photography Albums?

Since 2008, one thing I do every year is take the kids to pumpkin patch and take a few pictures. I will not lie, it gets harder and harder each year as they get older (especially with a middle schooler :)) BUT with a little bit of coaxing, arguing and of course some laughter I am still plugging away at it! I love seeing the changes and even some of the things that stay the same year to year! Happy Pumpkin Day everyone!

Babies on the Move! These little crawlers were on the move in the TGP studio! I love that with the New Beginnings Plan we can capture each stage of babies first year. Crawling is a big milestone and the New Beginnings Plan helps capture that for families!
Sweet one year old was in the studio this morning for her first birthday photo session! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this number 1 made of flowers of different shades pink ! Mom brought it in for her 1st birthday photo session! Going to have to steal this idea and have some flower numbers in the studio! She was the sweetest thing ever!
Do you have any new ideas? I have some! Let us share and discuss what should we plan for your baby’s first birthday photography session. Click on Contact Tracy and let us exchange our thoughts. Let us make it a memorable day and birthday photos a precious treasure for years and generations to come.
TGP Style White on White – it is my very favorite color!
I am always drawn to white in my portraits. To me, it is so beautiful, simple, clean and classic. In my eyes it represents a modern yet timeless look that captures the simplicity of a baby, child or family.
The Tracy Gabbard Photography studio is WHITE and it captures the light beautifully. White makes the baby, child or family “pop” because they become the color, they become the focus, they become the memory. Not the surroundings around them.
So in celebration of “white” 🙂 here are some of the many white on white images that I have been lucky enough to capture!
Beach session inquiries are in full swing so I thought I would do a little “throw back” from a beach session a few months ago. These images are a true representation of this amazing family. Their lives are crazy busy with 2 little boys but also they know how special this time is and these images will always remind them of a time quickly forgotten as their lives change and their boys grow. Beach sessions with little ones include lots of play and games to make it fun and keep them going. I think you can see that here! 🙂
Loving this baby in the studio for her sitting up session… Had to put it on the blog because can you believe mom and dad don’t have Facebook to see their sneak peak! Good for them… Less time on their phones and computers! They are members of the popular New Beginnings Plan so I will be lucky enough to see them again in a few months for their 1 year session!
Although I love to see all my babies hair or “lack of hair” 🙂 It is also fun to put cute hats and bonnets on them to. Some of my clients bring their own but I have many as well that I love to use. Babies of all ages look adorable in hats! I won’t lie, sometimes it is tricky to get the older babies to keep them on but I work with mom or dad to get it at least a couple of good portraits in their hats. We quickly try the “distract, drop and run” method and I click the shutter crossing our fingers for that perfect split second shot! Other babies don’t mind them at all. Either way, it is fun trying and as you can see they all look absolutely adorable!
A fun sneak peak of some of the holiday mini sessions happening over here at TGP! They are all completed now and galleries are almost ready to go out (some already have :))! These lucky clients will have their holiday cards done and ready to go soon! Can you imagine that… already completed that big task! I can NOT! LOL! I am lucky to get mine out by December 24th!
Brand New Big Brothers and Sisters in Studio (Tracy Gabbard Photography)
Photographing a newborn with a sibling (younger ones especially) is one of my favorite things in a newborn session! I will not lie, much of the time it takes A LOT of patience and MANY clicks of the camera to capture a handful of sweet sibling photos but once they are captured, there is nothing sweeter!!! What makes it so difficult to capture those precious moments? Well…. let me explain! First of all newborns are typically photographed with in the first 5-12 days of birth. Younger “big sisters or brothers” have just had their world rocked with a demanding baby! After those first couple days when the newness of the baby has worn off for them, they often want NOTHING to do with this alien that just invaded their world. Younger (preschool age) children can be difficult to photograph without the newness of a baby sibling SO throw that in the mix and you have a potentially challenging portion of the session. I LOVE when the siblings interact with the baby. These two below were “helping” cover the baby. Sometimes encouraging them to “help” is a good way to get them in the same spot for a quick photo!
Trying to get a newborn to stay asleep while getting a preschooler to cooperate and “pose” is not easy. Many times the best way to do this is to put the baby on something instead of having the sibling hold the baby. Often young children don’t feel comfortable holding their new baby anyway and it can be dangerous as they are unpredictable and may possibly get up without warning and leave the baby. I always have moms and dads helping hands close by for the baby no matter if he or she is in the siblings arms or in a prop. Safety first, always!!!! That is not to say that it is impossible to get a preschooler to hold their new baby! It can be done but always safely on the floor and with adult arms close by to help.
And then there are always the “smiling” looking at the camera pictures” Those are classic and always favorites.
I often think it would be funny to record the sibling portion of a newborn session! With mom, dad and me working together to keep the older child in an area of the baby, and all of us acting silly trying to get them to look at the camera or bribing with little treats! Maybe one day I will try to capture that on video! 🙂
Beautiful in Blue – Many times, I find it exciting to make newborn photo sessions, sitting up photo sessions, even family photo sessions with blue as the theme.
Blue is traditionally associated with boys but little girls do look great in blue! Look at that sweet young lady, ‘looking up’ down there. Doesn’t she appear wonderfully cute in her blue polka dots? What do you think about these babies in their stylish blue beds during their nap time? Oh my! I love staring at them. And, in that family photo, you can feel the close physical and emotional integration of the whole family wearing different shades of blue. I love them all so so much.
You, too, can create memories of your own like these at Tracy Gabbard Photography Studio, Clearwater. For more and latest photography visit frequently TGP at Facebook, or click on Contact.
(One year old photography – Tampa, FL) So this adorable rascal certainly enjoyed his cake in the studio! He was FULL of energy and happy smiles but his favorite part (besides the cake) was watching me chase him all over the studio! 🙂 The great thing about this session is that there will be another surprise that comes with it in the next couple weeks! I can’t wait to share that but for now here is a sneak peak into his one year session! For more and latest photo sessions frequently visit TGP on Facebook. (tampa one year old photography)

Tampa child photographerSo for this week’s Flashback Friday I thought I’d add a little fall flair to it since we’re in the season. And I also wanted to feature some of my favorite memories of my very own kids! Every Fall for the past 7 years, we visited our local pumpkin patch! As a tampa child photographer, and mother of these two, it makes my heart just skip a beat knowing that my little ones are growing up so fast! (Don’t all of us moms wish we could slow the time down LOL!) Please enjoy these Flashback Friday Fall memories as much has I have! **Disclaimer: My photography has greatly improved over the years!! Can you tell?!!?** Tampa Child Photographer
Tampa Family Photographer Being a big sister or a big brother is no easy task! It comes with a whole bunch of new responsibilities and new experiences. As a Tampa Family Photographer, I am so excited to feature these super siblings and a little sibling love on the blog today! Some are super sweet and some are just down right hilarious but these priceless interactions between siblings really make me smile! 🙂 Hope you love them too! Tampa Family Photographer
I have to say that this first birthday cake smash session speaks for itself! I absolutely LOVE this family and it seems like just yesterday I was doing big sister’s cake smash session! This little guy gave me so many great smiles during his session even during his first birthday cake smash portion of the session. And boy was he nicely dressed for the occasion. His classic full-suit baby tuxedo was the perfect touch for this first birthday cake smash session. But when big sister tried to snag some of the cake, this little guy threw the most adorable fit, trying to smile and cry at the same time! It was absolutely hilarious! I had a blast doing this session and from the looks of it, I’m guessing he did too! 🙂 (first birthday cake smash)
(tampa family photographer) A special Happy Mothers day to all the amazing moms! I am so lucky to be able to capture precious “mommy and me” moments throughout the year at many of my sessions. Here is just a small sampling of the many wonderful moms I meet each week! I hope that all my client mommies have wonderful day (and other moms to)! (tampa family photographer)
(tampa photographer) As I downloaded and scrolled through a recent session it inspired me to write this post on evening sessions with children. As a mom I am all to familiar with “the witching hour” which I am sure most moms reading this know, that is the hour in the evening (it is a different hour for every child but usually with in a couple hours of bedtime) when your most precious, adorable, perfect child is MISERABLE and you are to! This hour(s) creates fussy, cranky, needy children and this hour is very often what makes us moms count the seconds until bedtime. Although my children have now outgrown this hour (yay for me!) I remember it with not so much fondness very clearly. That is why when a mom emails or calls me to chat about a location session, I have a list of questions and a few things to chat about before we actually schedule.
As many of you may know, location sessions most often happen in the evenings about an hour before sunset. Depending on the time of year that could make the session start as late as 7:30 pm. Can they happen during the day or in the morning? Sure, however, the lighting is not as beautiful, the grass is usually wet (at least in the mornings) and it is often more difficult to find those shady areas that help keep your eyes from squinting in the bright sunlight.
So, back to that list… the first thing I usually ask is “How old are your children?”. If they tell me that their child(ren) are under 5, my next question is “How are they in the evenings?”. And we begin a very enlightening (at least I like to think so :)) conversation about evening sessions with young children. I always tell my potential client that I will of course take their pictures no matter what if they think their family is ready for it but I always like to remind them that it is not a great time for children to be at their best. And we do always get some great shots but there is a good chance that they many not have as many to choose from. Believe me, I have done MANY sessions in the evenings with young children…. how about 1 year old twins on the beach…. yea, i know, crazy! BUT, although VERY challenging, mom loved her gallery and it really told the story of how her family was at that point in time. She will always remember that time when her *babies* kept her on her toes (I am sure that is an understatement) and when she looks back at those pictures, I am sure she smiles and remembers that time with fondness. You can see some peaks of that session here.
So… that brings me back to my recent session. This particular mom and I had this discussion about evening sessions and one year olds. In her defense, we were trying to somewhat replicate a session we had done with her older child at ONE at the park. That session was great and he did just fine but as we know, every child is different. So off we trotted to UT (The University of Tampa) and began our session among at least 3 other sessions happening there at the same time 🙂 . Now, I love this location, it is beautiful with many options for backgrounds and beautiful light. But as I have learned over the many years of photographing children in the evening, this is when all photography “rules” go out the door and we just get what we can. The photographer in me REALLY (I mean REALLY) wants those perfect pictures, in the perfect light, beautifully in focus with an amazing smile or an adorable connection between siblings or family and believe me, I try SUPER HARD to get those (I think that my clients will tell you this… we *play* HARD at our sessions :)). We trot around the campus and we corral the kid(s) to my choice of backgrounds with beautiful light shining through the trees or landscape (my clients probably don’t even know that I am looking at all this but I am… as we walk around). We get the child(ren) perfectly placed and I turn on my *amazing* personality (lol!) and back up just a little bit to get what I think I need to in the frame of my camera…. By the time I get to the place I need to be (literally a split second- I move fast :)) there is a good chance the child is either up and moving, crying, or giving my silly sounds and faces a completely “blank” stare (even though I must say, I am rather funny). Mom and dad do *magic* tricks behind me (I will video this someday) but to no avail, there is no perfect smile or even a hint of happiness. Maybe we could qualify it as a cute *look* in this “perfect” spot…. but instead he gets up, moves to a NOT perfect spot and gives the most amazing smile ever….
Don’t know who’s thumb that is trying to keep him there for a minute (probably big brothers) 🙂
Will mom care? I have no idea, probably not … I like to think that in most cases I am the only one that cares about those perfect backgrounds (it is the photographer in me, I can’t help it- I am sure most other photographers can relate). Moms mostly just care about happy children and precious portraits that will put a smile on their faces as they walk by. It is just a “bonus” to get all of the things together in one shot. Here are some fun “behind the scenes pictures from this session as well as a few “gems” so this poor mommy who has not gotten her gallery yet doesn’t think that there are not any other shots as well. 🙂
We ended this session with a cake smash (after all what is a one year old session with out a yummy cake to end the night?) and although this session did have its issues, from all of the balloons popping (notice the amount of balloons in the beginning to the end), to adorable but busy toddlers, windy, and of course mosquitos, over all it was a great experience. And when I really think about it, almost all sessions bring their own unique set of issues whether they are in the mornings, in the studio, planned around naps or during the “witching hour”. Is an evening session right for you if you have little ones? You will have to decide… I think it went fine for this family! I think they will be very happy with their gallery! 🙂 (tampa photographer)
